ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है - Zindagi badi hai ...

So me and Kavi Raj were having a cuppa near Shivranjini Cross Roads. A sudden screeching sound drew our attention to a near fatal accident. Luckily no one was hurt and in true Amdavaadi style both the afflicted parties checked that the other person was covered by insurance and went their merry way!

I asked Kavi Raj whether he has read the hugely popular book "7 habits of highly effective people" by Steven Covey? There is this chapter which asks the readers to imagine what their eulogy is gonna sound like. Ofcourse he has read the book and we at Apnu Ahmedabad strongly recommend this book to our patrons.

Then late at night I receive the following poem by mail. Man this guys creativity makes me swell with pride that he is our resident poet!

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दर्ज्वाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दरवाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

अब सब लगता है छोटा बस ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है

कितनी बार अपनों के साथ समय ना व्यतीत किया

फिर समय मिल जाएगा यही सदा प्रतीत किया

अब समय निकल चुका है

ख़तम हो गयी घडी है

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दरवाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

अब सब लगता है छोटा बस ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है

कई रिश्तों को अपना ना समझा

समझा केवल पराया

जो पराये पड़े थे रिश्ते

उनको अपना कर पछताया

समझ ना पाया ये उलझन

कहाँ पे गड़बड़ी है

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दरवाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

अब सब लगता है छोटा बस ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है

अपनी साँसों को धुंए के नाम कर दिया

पानी को शराब कर बदनाम कर दिया

नशा जीवन ले ना पाया कभी

अब टूटी इस नशे की हर एक

कड़ी है

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दरवाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

अब सब लगता है छोटा बस ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है

ख़ुशी की तलाश में भटकता रहा

गलियों गलियों में

कभी ढूँढा शहरों के पथरीले रास्तों

गगन चुम्भी इमारतों

कभी जंगल जंगल फूल पत्ती

कलियों में

पता ना था ये ख़ुशी मेरे

सिराहने ही पड़ी है

ज़िन्दगी आज मौत के दरवाज़े पे आ खड़ी है

अब सब लगता है छोटा बस ज़िन्दगी बड़ी है
