Arnoldism!

Arnold Schwarzenegger
A week time of workout and cardio at a Gymnasium is not much inspiration to write an article about it. But, i am tempted to write as there are some interesting things to share and today is my hero Arnold's 64th birthday. Please don't laugh after knowing that i dream of having body like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Including me, a whole generation has grown up seeing Terminator movies again and again. The chiseled and muscled body of Arnold has left an unerasable impression. He has huge number of fan following all over the world. Men as well as woman! He began to weight train at the young age of 15 years old. He won the title of Mr Universe at age 20 and was Mr Olympia 7 times. He remained a prominent presence in the sport of bodybuilding and he has written several books and numerous articles on the sport.

He still has a body to die for. All want to have such body, though we may not commit that in public. Some try hard, some give up, few achieve and very few do better

I go to Fitness Point at Vastrapur, opposite SNL House. This gym has all the latest equipments with enough trainers and physicians. I like the ambiance and i am impressed with the care taken by trainers. Employees are professional and well trained.

It's astounding to see the level of pain one goes through to build a body or to reduce weight. Burning calories is a sweaty job. Sometimes, I am amused when i see someone running fast on the treadmill as if there is a bus to catch and cycling as if childhood has returned.

I really appreciate those who are regular at gym for their effort and concern regarding their health and fitness. Though all are from different age group, most are young. There are some who look fit, but are here for six or eight packs and these are real motivations for others. Today, i name this passion or motivation for working out hard at gym as "Arnoldism" as Arnold has turned the sport of body-building into a fiery feeling which will never extinguish. It will only burn more and more calories. One thing that is quite obvious is that male are in majority. That's neither bad nor good as that's how world works.

"I will be back!" This dialogue of Arnold is always at the back of my mind when I get screwed in Life. Truly an inspiration for a generation that was in their teens in the 80s and 90s. Good article Vishal!

Sorry to break it to you like this; but isn't body building the only sport that requires zero skill. Zilch. Nada!
