We daily suffer due to traffic problem, that's the price we pay for living in a big city!
It's interesting to know that when compared to developed countries of the world, it is said that motor vehicle penetration in India is low with only 13 million cars on roads. In addition, only around 10% of Indian households own a motorcycle.
Despite such low number by world standard, sometimes at traffic signals in Ahmedabad, we have to stand for more than two or three minutes for green light. Ahmedabad has serious traffic problem. This city is ranked second regarding number of two wheelers and has 2 million vehicles.
The Gujarat Government in Ahmedabad has taken a right step towards strengthening the public transport system by starting the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transport System), also known as JanMarg. Buses run on dedicated lanes provided in the centre of the road while bicyclists get their own dedicated track and pedestrians get wide footpaths. People have liked the service and it has been a success story. Many new Flyovers have recently been built to avoid traffic jams at various crossings. Lots of such new projects are underway which is a good sign. Number of vehicles will keep growing, but proper public transport system can reduce commotion due to traffic congestion and jams on roads.

Greetings! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was
wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?
I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
My web-site ; Sandpoint waterfront
