TOT ka ...

After some deliberation about the horrific bombings yet again in Mumbai, discussion veered towards the outstanding levels of patience that the 'Common Man' has. And then we all can figure out from Vishal's post today what happens when patience ultimately runs dry.

So, team apnuahmedabad has decided to introduce what we want to call the Theme of the times (TOT). Well fashion stores and restaurants have a theme even Google does, why not a blog on Ahmedabad?! Till a more relevant theme comes up, a particular theme will be delved upon apart from other content on the blog.

Just going through the newspapers everyday makes one shudder at the suicide cases in apnu ahmedabad. Add all such cases which don’t get reported and the number is mind numbing. A simple google search yields dismal results about the lack of suicide helplines or counseling and support bodies in Ahmedabad. I could find only one in Navrangpura where no one picks up calls. Ofcourse, I called at 10.30 pm but I am assuming anyone harbouring suicidal tendencies should have 24 hours access to counseling and all possible help.

So my fellow ahmedabadis, who have lovingly humoured us so far with your precious time by reading and even liking and commenting on our posts! It is time to raise some serious awareness about rising suicides and just who knows we minght end up creating something worthwhile and longlasting for this beloved Ahmedabad of ours.
